Boca Raton Police Arrest Delray Beach Man After Months-Long Drug Investigation

A Delray Beach man faces multiple felony drug trafficking charges after Boca Raton police conducted a months-long series of undercover narcotics operations that led to his incarceration this week.

Gabriel Avi Rosenfeld, 24, was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail on three separate cases stemming from alleged drug sales between July and August, police said. He faces charges including trafficking in cocaine, trafficking in amphetamine or methamphetamine, and possession of liquid THC.

The investigation centered on three incidents, each of which was described in separate probably cause affidavits filed in court this week. The first occurred July 23, when an undercover detective with the Boca Raton Police Department’s Vice and Narcotics Unit arranged to buy drugs from Rosenfeld through a messaging application. The detective, equipped with audio and video recording equipment, met Rosenfeld at a Publix shopping plaza on N. Federal Highway with $1,000 in pre-recorded funds, police said.

Surveillance units allegedly watched Rosenfeld leave a Delray Beach apartment on a tan golf cart and travel to the meeting location. Police say Rosenfeld got into the passenger seat of the detective’s vehicle and completed a hand-to-hand exchange, providing roughly 100 pills represented as Adderall and 50 THC vape cartridges in return for the cash. Investigators said the pills, weighing about 39.6 grams, later tested positive for methamphetamine, while the vape cartridges had a combined weight of more than 1,300 grams.

Three weeks later, on Aug. 14, police say the same undercover detective arranged to buy a “trafficking amount” of cocaine from Rosenfeld for $950. According to the affidavit, Rosenfeld told the detective he needed to travel to the area of Linton Boulevard and Jog Road to retrieve the drugs before completing the deal.

Surveillance teams allegedly tracked Rosenfeld from his residence to the meeting point, where he arrived driving a black BMW SUV. Police said Rosenfeld again got into the detective’s vehicle and handed over roughly 29.8 grams of a white, rock-like substance that a field test and subsequent lab analysis identified as cocaine.

In the final case, from Aug. 27, Boca Raton police worked with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration on an undercover buy involving hundreds of pills allegedly represented as Adderall, according to the report.

Text messages cited in the affidavit show an undercover detective asking to purchase $2,000 worth of the pills, to which Rosenfeld allegedly responded he had available. The two arranged to meet again at the Publix plaza on N. Federal Highway, where Rosenfeld allegedly arrived in a white BMW SUV and exchanged about 665 pills for the cash.

Field tests and a Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office lab analysis reportedly confirmed the pills, which were bearing markings “consistent with counterfeit Adderall,” contained methamphetamine, with a combined weight of roughly 221 grams.

Records show Rosenfeld was booked on all three cases Sept. 15, with the reports filed in circuit court the following day. He was arrested on charges including two counts of trafficking in amphetamine or methamphetamine, one count of trafficking in cocaine and one count of possession of liquid THC. Bond information was not listed as set at the time the reports were filed.

Rosenfeld remained in custody at the Palm Beach County Jail on Friday in lieu of $225,000 combined bail set on the four separate charges.
