Four men accused of stealing more than $4,200 worth of liquor during a string of store thefts and a strong-arm robbery across Boca Raton and neighboring towns last week were arrested after their getaway vehicle was stopped in Delray Beach, according to arrest affidavits from the Boca Raton Police Department and Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.
Jeremiah Jermaine Gonzalez, 23, of Delray Beach; Jeremiah Maurice Jackson; Jai’rus Sutton; and Rashod Lorenzo Evans, all in their early 20s, face various felony charges including grand theft, retail theft, robbery and burglary. Police said the men worked together using the same white 2025 Volkswagen Jetta in numerous incidents spanning July 3 to July 6, 2026.
The crimes began July 3 at a Publix liquor store on North Federal Highway in Boca Raton, where four suspects allegedly took numerous bottles valued at more than $900 before fleeing. The same group returned to that Boca Raton Publix on the afternoon of July 6 and allegedly stole additional bottles worth about $367.
On July 5, two suspects including Jackson stole liquor valued at $1,680 from a Walgreens in the Village of Royal Palm Beach, it was alleged. An employee later identified Jackson in a photo lineup. Jackson has a large spider-web tattoo on his neck that matched surveillance from one of the incidents, police said.
The evening of July 6, three suspects robbed an ABC Fine Wine & Spirits store on U.S. 441 (SR-7) in unincorporated Lake Worth. One gathered four bottles of Patron tequila while another asked a clerk for two bottles of Clase Azul tequila and then snatched both from the clerk’s hands before the group fled in the Jetta. A show-up identification later linked Gonzalez to the robbery, the report stated.
Minutes afterward, police allege that all four suspects allegedly struck a Publix liquor store on Wellington Trace in Wellington and took multiple bottles of high-end tequila, cognac and vodka valued at more than $1,270 before fleeing in the same vehicle. Witnesses described clothing that matched the earlier incidents that day.
Deputies and officers located the Jetta in the Lake Ida Park area of Delray Beach on July 7. Gonzalez was detained on foot nearby, and the vehicle was stopped at Lake Ida Road and Roosevelt Avenue. Jackson, Sutton and Evans were inside the car along with a female passenger who was detained but not charged. Three of the men were still wearing clothing consistent with witness descriptions from the July 6 crimes, police said.
During the investigation, a clerk from the Lake Worth robbery identified Gonzalez in a show-up, the police report said. Sutton allegedly confessed to participating in multiple thefts and the robbery and identified the others as accomplices, according to the affidavits. Jackson also identified himself as a participant in some of the Boca Raton incidents. Gonzalez and Evans declined to speak and invoked their constitutional rights to remain silent.
Police said Sutton told investigators the group steals liquor with the intent to resell it. One affidavit noted Jackson is flagged as a gang member and the PBSO Gang Unit was notified. The cases span multiple jurisdictions, with Boca Raton police handling the local Publix incidents and PBSO investigating the Walgreens, ABC and Wellington cases. All four men remain in custody facing the felony charges.
All four men were still being held in the Palm Beach County Jail on Friday.
