A Boca Raton woman who was convicted on sex offenses after pleading guilty to trafficking children in a high-profile case from 2012 is facing fresh charges of failing to properly register as a sex offender.
Mandi Bowman, now 36, was charged in 2012 at the age of 22 with arranging for the trafficking of minors for sex following a federal investigation. She had faced a potential life sentence in prison, but ultimately pleaded guilty to a count of conspiracy to commit sex trafficking of children and was sentenced to four years. She served 36 months in a state prison before being released.
This week, Bowman was arrested by the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office for failing to re-register as a sex offender every six months, as part of that sentence. According to court documents, she reported an address change from Broward County to Collington Drive in unincorporated Boca Raton in November 2025, and acknowledged at the time that she was obligated to re-register in her birthday month and six months later. Her birthday passed in January and she allegedly failed to fulfill the requirement, leading to her arrest on Wednesday.
According to statements from federal authorities in 2012, the case against Bowman resulted from an investigation into a website advertising escort services. During the investigation, an undercover law enforcement officer posing as a client contacted a 14-year-old female to meet for a “commercial sex act.” When the minor arrived at the meeting place, the officer told the minor that he was a police officer and not a client. The minor told the officer that Bowman assisted the prostitution ring by setting up the website advertisement and by teaching her how to schedule appointments and negotiate prices.
Bowman ultimately assisted law enforcement in tracking down her co-defendant, Rashad Emon “Shagg Dogg” Clark, who was 33-years-old at the time. Clark, who was described as a “pimp,” fled to Texas before being apprehended.
