A Boca Raton restaurateur has been released from the Palm Beach County Jail after being charged with domestic battery in connection with an incident that occurred Jan. 12, 2026 at an undisclosed address.

A police report stated Palm Beach County Sheriff’s deputies were called to a home Jan. 12 at 12:44 a.m., which culminated in the arrest of Louis Bossi, 57. Bossi is the owner of the popular restaurant bearing his name on Palmetto Park Road in downtown Boca Raton as well as a location in the trendy Las Olas district in Fort Lauderdale.

According to the report, the alleged victim, whose name is being withheld, told deputies a verbal dispute over prescription medication turned physical when Bossi allegedly threw a water bottle at her. The water bottle did not hit her, the report said, but he is then alleged to have “angrily approached” her and “grabbed the hair on the back of her head and pushed her against the wall.”

The woman accused Bossi of grabbing her right wrist and pulling her toward a bedroom door “screaming for her to get out of the house.” She then called 911, leading deputies to respond. She also said Bossi was yelling “I’m going to kill you” during the incident.

The report said the woman was observed to have bruises and scratches on her wrist, however she refused medical treatment at the scene. Further, the report stated Bossi confirmed the verbal dispute in an interview with deputies, but said he only put his hands out to stop the alleged victim from continuing to aggressively approach him.

Bossi was charged with simple domestic battery and was released on $1,000 bail after spending just under 23 hours at the jail, records showed.

Bossi’s Boca Raton restaurant, Louie Bossi’s Ristorante Bar Pizzeria, celebrated a grand reopening in November after being closed for months after a fire swept through the premises in April 2025. The restaurant was renovated with décor inspired by Italy’s Amalfi Coast region and offered new menu items to celebrate its resilience.
