A Boca Raton man has been charged with drunk driving after crashing into the closed gate of an apartment complex, prompting police to investigate the accident.
Luis Arboleda Gallego, 38, was charged Nov. 25, 2025 with DUI causing property damage after police responded to the Allure by Windsor development on Congress Avenue for a report of a vehicle that had crashed into the entrance gate of the community. Upon arrival, officers found a 2013 Cadillac XTS against the gate with the vehicle still in gear and its driver “unresponsive” behind the wheel.
According to a police report, an officer knocked on the door of the SUV and the driver, later identified as Gallego, became responsive a short time later. He allegedly appeared “disoriented and unaware of his surroundings,” the report said, and after grabbing a drink from the cup holder of the vehicle, pressed the accelerator. The officer then opened the driver side door and reached in to put the vehicle in park and stop the engine.
Police performed field sobriety tests and, later, Gallego allegedly registered alcohol levels of .12 and .13 BAC in breath tests; Florida’s legal limit is .08. He was booked and released from the Palm Beach County Jail on $2,500 bond.
