The White House debuted its “Aliens.gov” site Thursday, amidst a bit of social media intrigue, reference to people who “walk among us,” and some memes from the much-beloved government conspiracy series The X-Files. But while the Trump administration has pledged more transparency on the government’s historical documents into life beyond planet Earth, the new website tracks aliens closer to home.
The site features a searchable graphic database of illegal aliens apprehended by federal authorities since Trump took office Jan. 25, 2025. A map allows users to see how many apprehensions have taken place on a town-by-town basis, with the data being updated daily. The number of arrests are indicated on a macro level by large red circles, indicating the breadth of apprehension activity, with South Florida representing a major center of enforcement. West Palm Beach dominates locally, but Boca Raton has also seen some enforcement action over the past year and four months.
According to the database, 33 illegal aliens have been apprehended in Boca Raton. They hail from numerous countries, including Azerbaijan, Brazil, Cuba, Ecuador, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Iran, Kazakhstan, Mexico, Russia, Ukraine and Venezuela. The individuals detained by immigration authorities have been charged with numerous criminal offenses, including assault, forgery, “fraudulent activities,” larceny, obstructing judiciary/Congress/Legislature, obstructing police, breaching the public peace, and traffic offenses. None of the suspects were listed as having formal gang affiliations.
Locally, Boca Raton had a small number of apprehensions compared to neighboring cities. Nearby Delray Beach had 124 apprehensions, with a much wider array of listed crimes, and included aliens with gang affiliations. Boynton Beach had 24 detentions while Pompano Beach had 203 detentions. Deerfield Beach, Boca Raton’s southern neighbor, was not listed on the map.
More active areas include Fort Lauderdale, with a staggering 1,502 apprehensions – including those with gang affiliations – and West Palm Beach saw 1,970 detentions, some with gang affiliations.
