Railroad crossings in Boca Raton along the Florida East Coast Railway will be temporarily closed or restricted next week as crews upgrade safety features at the intersections, the city has announced.
The Florida Department of Transportation and contractor Gonzalez & Sons Equipment Inc. will install delineators, raised pavement markers, striping and signs at the crossings. The work is part of an ongoing grant project along the FEC corridor from Cocoa Beach to Miami. The set of tracks in question carry freight rail cars as well as the Brightline high-speed passenger rail service.
