For the second time in three months, a Boca Raton woman – who was on foot – has been charged with striking and damaging a person’s vehicle while the victim was stopped at a red light.

Florence Okyerebea Djan, 69, was arrested for the second time since November 2025 after she allegedly walked into the street and slammed her fist into the trunk of a vehicle that was stopped at a red light at E. Glades Road and N. Dixie Highway. In the previous incident, which is still working its way through the court system, Djan allegedly used a cane to strike and damage a stopped vehicle in a similar scenario.

According to the latest police report, the driver of a vehicle registered in New Jersey was waiting to turn at the intersection when the woman – then unidentified – allegedly “struck the top of the trunk of the car by slamming it with the bottom of her closed fist.” She then is said to have continued walking around the vehicle towards the driver’s side, and unleashed a stream of expletives at the driver when they rolled down the window to tell the person to stop.

The driver then went to a nearby fire station and called police, who found a woman matching the description of the suspect at Lake Wyman Park. The driver of the vehicle, a 2025 Honda Civic, was able to identify the suspect after police drove her to the location where Djan was being detained.

Just like the previous incident, Djan told officers that the vehicle “almost hit her,” according to a police report, despite the fact that there was no evidence of any near-accident.

Djan was charged with criminal mischief resulting in damage of property between $200 and $1,000. She was also listed as having been booked for the recommission of a crime. She remained lodged in the Palm Beach County Jail in lieu of $2,000 bond.
