A police report accuses a Boca Raton man of vandalizing his neighbor’s car using both keys and melted wax – allegedly while drunk on New Year’s Eve.
Camilo Macedo, 47, was arrested and taken to the Palm Beach County Jail on a felony vandalism charge after police began investigating damage to his neighbor’s pickup truck, which was parked outside an East Boca apartment complex. The vehicle’s owner woke up to go to work on New Year’s Day after parking his vehicle in the lot shortly before midnight to find that his truck had its passenger side door keyed, antenna torn off and hot wax had been poured all over the windshield.
A neighbor, identified as Macedo, provided police footage which showed a man – allegedly identified as him – picking up and item and walking around the truck before returning home. After being read his Miranda rights, Macedo “admitted he was drunk and keyed the truck out of anger and s frustration,” the police report said.
Macedo was later released from the jail on $5,000 bail.
