A Boca Raton man has been charged with intimidation, stalking and a computer crime offense after allegedly sending threatening messages over the course of what a victim told police were “well over 1,000 contact attempts” in the past week alone.
Jacob Swickle, 22, is accused of stalking an ex-girlfriend in Wellington following an investigation by the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office. According to a police report, a detective from the office’s Targeted Violence Unit was assigned the case due to an apparent history between the suspect and victim. What was termed in the report as harassment began to escalate Dec. 7, 2025, with Swickle allegedly using “spoofed or blocked numbers” along with “numerous social media accounts” in an attempt to conceal his identity.
The report details communications dating back to Oct. 19, 2025, in which Swickle allegedly sent voicemail messages threatening to kill the victim, with whom he has a child, and calling her vulgar names. In one such message, he is accused of stating he was on his way to her home with a firearm. He is also accused of following the victim to a restaurant and confronting her in his vehicle while making additional death threats.
Detectives traced the number from which numerous threatening messages were sent to the victim to be linked to a mobile phone owned by Swickle, the report said.
“The evidence includes multiple written and recorded death threats, sworn statements from the victim and family members, documented screenshots of threatening messages, and voicemail recordings in which Swickle explicitly states he intends to kill [the victim],” the report said.
The victim’s name has been voluntarily withheld in this story.
Swickle has been charged with written threats to kill, aggravated stalking, and unlawful use of a two-way communication device. He was lodged in the Palm Beach County Jail following his arrest Dec. 9, 2025 in lieu of a combined $60,000 bond on the three charges.
