A 42-year-old man was arrested May 15 after police said he allegedly threatened two people with a knife during an altercation at a Boca Raton apartment complex and cut one of them.
Daniel Stone, of Boca Raton, was charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and child abuse without great bodily harm, according to an arrest report from the Boca Raton Police Department that was released Tuesday. The charges stem from an incident to which officers responded around 6:50 p.m. on NW 4th Avenue at the Cynthia Gardens apartment complex after receiving a report of three males fighting and a man with a knife, the report states.
Two males flagged down officers and told them a white male wearing a green shirt had threatened them with a knife and cut one of them, according to the report filed in court this week. Police observed a small cut on the right side of one victim’s abdomen, the report stated. The alleged victims reported that the suspect said, “I’ll slit your throat and then your girlfriends will have no one to be with,” while holding the knife in an “aggressive stance,” the document states. Both victims confirmed the threats.
Officers located a man matching the description of the suspect – later identified as Stone – nearby, and took him into custody. A “show-up” identification was conducted, and both victims, along with witnesses, positively identified Stone as the suspect, police said.
While in the back of a patrol vehicle, Stone is alleged to have spontaneously stated, “I might have, like, lightly touched a minor with a piece of metal that’s old as f-ck. I scraped it all over my face, man. That’s not cutting sh-t,” according to the report. One of the victims was identified in the report as being 16-years-old, which led to the child abuse charge.
Stone remained lodged in the Palm Beach County Jail on Tuesday in lieu of $25,000 combined bail for the four charges.
