Detectives were able to track down a Boca Raton woman who is accused of stealing another woman’s wallet out of a locker at a fitness club using a combination of surveillance footage, store purchase records and a lineup, according to a police report filed by the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.
The suspect, Kymberly Hannah, 58, of Boca Raton, surrendered to authorities this week in connection with the Sept. 30, 2025 theft and is charged with larceny and two counts of fraudulent use of credit cards. The investigation into the theft played out over several weeks.
According to the report, the victim – whose name is being withheld – placed her wallet inside an unsecured locker at the EoS Fitness location on U.S. 441 (SR-7) in unincorporated Boca Raton, and discovered it was stolen within minutes after she received an alert to possible fraudulent activity on one of her credit cards while she was in the middle of her workout. She then checked the locker and her wallet was missing. By the time she was able to cancel her cards, the person who took the wallet had charged $206.35 at a Publix $394.67 at a Home Depot, located in a shopping plaza directly across the street from her gym.
The victim then went to both stores and reported the incident, with store personnel in both locations telling her that they would release surveillance footage at the request of law enforcement. She ultimately filed a formal report with the sheriff’s office, kicking off the investigation.
Detectives obtained the security footage from each store, as well as from the gym, which showed a white female purchasing items ranging from a case of Red Bull energy drinks to a Shark vacuum with two separate cards in the victim’s name. The video from the gym showed the woman entering the gym and going to the locker room, only to exit minutes later with a slightly different wardrobe “holding a white t-shirt in her hands, concealing an unknown item.” Detectives were able to link the events to Hannah through parking lot surveillance video that showed the suspect – who matched Hannah’s description – allegedly getting into a vehicle with a license plate registered to her.
A staff member at the gym was able to identify Hannah in a photo lineup, according to the report. Detectives met with Hannah Nov. 17 at a substation in West Boca, where she allegedly told them she could not recall her whereabouts on Sept. 30 due to the amount of time that had passed. After being shown the surveillance footage from the gym and the two stores, she is alleged to have acknowledged purchasing the vacuum, but did not provide an explanation as to why credit cards linked to another person were used. Detectives, the report stated, told Hannah after the meeting they had enough evidence to file charged, but allowed her to self-surrender during the week of Nov. 24, 2025.
Hannah was held at the Palm Beach County Jail for about 25 hours before being released on $5,000 combined bond for the two credit card fraud charged and $250 for the larceny charge.
