A Boca Raton couple were killed Sept. 2 in what police described as a murder-suicide.
According to Officer Jessica Desir, a man and woman were found deceased in their apartment at about 10 p.m. Monday night after the woman called a family member shortly beforehand and said her husband wanted to kill her. The family member, according to the statement, could hear a disturbance in the background while on the phone and immediately went to the residence, along NE 45th Street, with other relatives.
After arriving at the residence, a family member contacted Boca Raton Police.
Officers forced entry into the apartment and located the woman and her husband deceased from apparent gunshot wounds. A firearm was observed nearby, the statement said. The pair were identified as Ana Josefa Pardo Gonzalez, 60, and her husband, Gilbert Cruz Fernandez, 62.
A preliminary investigation revealed Pardo Gonzalez was shot by her husband before he turned the gun on himself. Anyone with information about the ongoing investigation is asked to contact Detective Alfredo Lima at 561-620-6246.
