Bachelor Party Brawl Results in One Arrest in Delray Beach

An oceanfront bachelor party in Delray Beach turned into a brawl that spilled into the street after partygoers began fighting the night of June 5. One man was arrested after police say he threw another person through a glass table during the altercation an Airbnb, causing laceration injuries.

Georgio Poullas, 26, of Savannah, Ga., faces a charge of aggravated battery in the 8:46 p.m. incident at a residence in the 1000 block of Rhodes Villa Avenue, according to a Delray Beach Police Department police report filed in court this week. Officers went to the residence after reports of a fight were called in, the report said. Witnesses told police that a physical altercation began between the groom and another man identified as Nicholas Poullas after the future bride, who was also present, was “harassed.” The groom’s brother apparently attempted to break it up, authorities said, but was unsuccessful.

According to the report, Poullas allegedly grabbed the brother, threw him through a glass table and continued striking him while he was on the ground. He suffered lacerations to his upper lip, a left eye injury and other cuts that required medical treatment. Police said several people involved in the altercation fled the scene eastbound along S. Ocean Boulevard (A1A), prompting officers to use a K-9 unit to conduct a search of the area. They ultimately located two men hiding in the hedges at a nearby residence on White Drive, one of whom – Poullas – was charged criminally.

Poullas was taken to the Palm Beach County Jail following his arrest and later released after posting $1,500 bail.
