A group of men riding in a stolen car allegedly used the vehicle to try breaking into other cars in Boca Raton before one suspect was arrested after a short chase on I-95, according to police.

Bilince Occeus, 19, of Delray Beach, was arrested on a charge of grand theft of a motor vehicle, burglary of an unoccupied conveyance, both felonies, as well as loitering and resisting arrest with violence following an incident on May 16, 2026, Delray Beach police said in a probable cause affidavit filed in court this week. According to the affidavit, Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office detectives and Delray Beach police were investigating a stolen white Acura sedan reported taken from the 2600 block of Bridge Road. On May 16, authorities located the Acura occupied on Catherine Drive in Delray Beach.

Police tailed the vehicle, which traveled to an address on N. Latitude Circle in Delray Beach, where three occupants got out, the report said. The group continued south into Boca Raton, where they allegedly attempted to access several vehicles on a street off Federal Highway by trying to pull door handles. Officers eventually were ready to stop the stolen car and investigate by the time the vehicle had traveled to the intersection of Glades Road, when the incident turned even more dangerous, according to the report.

“While attempting to safely conduct a takedown of the stolen vehicle, the vehicle entered I-95 south,” the affidavit stated, leading police to radio state troopers as well as Broward County sheriff’s deputies. A Florida Highway Patrol trooper later attempted a traffic stop on northbound I-95, at which point four suspects bailed out of the Acura. One subject, later identified as Eric Weatherspoon, was apprehended at the scene. The others, including Occeus, fled on foot but were ultimately apprehended.

Occeus was taken into custody near a home off the SW 10th Street exit, however the homeowner told police he did not know Occeus, according to a supplement to the affidavit. In post-Miranda interviews, one passenger told investigators he had entered the Acura that day with the others and Occeus, whom he said he had just met. One of the passengers admitted being in the vehicle during the burglaries but said he did not know the car was stolen and ran from police out of fear of arrest.

The Acura was listed with an estimated value of $15,000. Occeus was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail. It was not immediately clear whether any of the other passengers were charged in outside jurisdictions.
