A Boca Raton man faces charges of burglary and battery after authorities say he entered a residence, masked his face and struck his 67-year-old mother inside.
Daniel Abramson, 36, was arrested in connection with the April 30 incident at a residence in unincorporated Boca Raton, according to a Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office report. Deputies allege Abramson arrived unannounced at the home around 7 p.m. A witness allowed him inside after he pleaded to be allowed inside so he could “spend quality time with family.” A relative was purportedly gesturing for the person who answered to the door to decline to allow him inside, but the person ultimately agreed. Once inside, the report stated, Abramson covered his face with a black mask, rushed toward the mother and “swung her to the ground.” The victim sustained minor injuries, including a bump and redness.
The report states the defendant had been following his mother and taking photographs of her without her knowledge. It also alleges he entered the dwelling under false pretenses. Abramson was charged with burglary of an occupied dwelling unarmed and battery on a person 65 years of age or older, enhanced by wearing a mask during the offense. Both charges are felonies.
Abramson was released from the Palm Beach County Jail on $30,000 combined bond for the two charges.
