Boca Raton police have charged two sisters with working together to steal nearly $5,000 worth of items from the city’s Macy’s store at the Boca Town Center mall in a scheme that involved sneaking into the store near a loading dock. One of the women allegedly told police: “We was shoplifting.”
Vinquisha Chantiere Woodard, 32, of Lauderhill, and her sister Vintoya Woodard, 32, of Pompano Beach, were charged with felony retail theft and retail theft in coordination with others, police said. The incident occurred about 9:04 p.m. Monday, April 20, 2026, when police worked with store security to make an arrest after security was heightened following a string of retails thefts that had occurred on previous Mondays and Wednesdays, the report stated.
A loss prevention officer said he first saw the two women arrive in separate vehicles, park next to the loading dock on the north side of the mall, quickly exit, grab orange bags and enter the store through the loading dock’s north-side door. The officer identified both women, the report said, alleging that the pair worked together, heading straight to the fragrance department inside Macy’s, where they placed various items into their bags before leaving the store as soon as the bags were full.
Video surveillance from inside and outside the store corroborated the account, the report stated. The stolen merchandise was valued at $4,924 — $3,530 from the larger bag and $1,394 from the smaller one.
After the women left the store, Boca Raton police officers apprehended them. Vintoya Woodard, after being read her Miranda rights, allegedly told police, “We was shoplifting,” and admitted the sisters entered the mall through the door near the loading dock with the intention of taking items. She said she placed five or six items into her smaller bag while inside Macy’s and that neither she nor her sister intended to pay. Vinquisha Woodard declined to speak to police about the incident, according to an affidavit signed April 21, 2026.
Both women remained lodged in the Palm Beach County Jail in lieu of bond. Vintoya Woodard had bail set at $10,000 combined for the two charges; Vinquisha Woodard had bail set at a combined $50,000.
