Boca Bash 2025 saw boaters arriving and setting anchor as early as sunrise Sunday, with an especially low tide at its peak in the early afternoon providing a sandbar that served as the center of fun in the sun.
With a temperature of 83 degrees, water temperatures hovering near 81, plus low humidity and light winds, the conditions were perfect for boating as the weather drew thousands of revelers to anchor up, crank tunes, listen to DJs performing on pontoon platforms and enjoy drinks galore.
Statistics have yet to be released, however there were visible signs of some partiers being arrested and taken into custody by Florida FWC officers as well as Boca Raton police. At least eight arrests were publicly acknowledged by Monday morning. Last year, 16 people were arrested at the event.
Police set up a large mobile command center at Wildflower Park off Palmetto Park Road, including the city’s mobile command vehicle and similar equipment provided by FWC. Some vessels had their voyages terminated by officers, with the operators – presumably – being processed while passengers were instructed to don life jackets while the vessel was being held at the bullkhead near the park.
Police officers on personal watercraft made their way up and down the rows of boats, keeping a sharp eye on whether the antics surrounding them were good fun – or dangerous behavior. As the incoming tide rushed in during the late afternoon hours, currents became significantly stronger, at some points causing friction between boaters as some had failed to properly secure their anchors, causing vessels to move into the path of others.
The chaos, however, did not outweigh to fun for the vast majority of boaters. The crowd began clearing out around 5 p.m., with a virtual armada of vessels traveling north along the intracoastal waterway and scores more southward and out Boca Inlet. After sunset, all was quiet once again.
