Boca Raton Community High School was in a state of lockdown Monday, with police responding to the school just before 12:30 p.m. for a “report of a a possible armed subject on campus.”
The department has since sent out numerous update notices over its reverse 911 system and via social media, all indicating that investigators have not found any evidence to support the report, but are continuing to search the campus and surrounding area.
Another message sent out by city and school officials advised parents who planned to come to the school to stage in the parking lot of the Cinemark movie theater at 3200 Airport Road, where officers would be present to direct them.
At 1:20 p.m., police said nothing suspicious had been identified, and officers were conducting a “final sweep” of the area before, presumably, lifting the lockdown.
