Glades Road Accident Claims Life of Woman, 47; Boca Raton Police Investigating

Boca Raton police said Friday that its Traffic Homicide Unit is investigating a fatal crash which occurred along the 2400 block of W. Glades Road on Thursday.

The crash occurred at at approximately 6 a.m., Nov. 6. According to a statement from police, a 2010 Dodge Caliber was traveling west in the inner left turn lane of 2400 W Glades Road and a 2025 BMW X1 was traveling east in the left traffic lane of 2400 W Glades Road. The Dodge attempted to make a left turn into the path of the BMW, causing the front of the BMW to collide with the right side of the Dodge, the statement said.

The drivers of both vehicles – Edgar Eduardo Munoz Avendano, 37, of Pompano Beach (Dodge) and Ashaki Sutton, 61, of Tamarac – sustained minor injuries. The passenger of the Dodge, identified as Yonin Mejia Rodriguez, 47, was transported to a local hospital where he later died as a result of his injuries.
