A motorist in Boca Raton was stopped at a red light when a 69-year-old woman struck his vehicle with a metal cane, threatened the driver, and was found by police a short time later in a park.

Florence Okyerebea Djan, 69, was charged with aggravated assault with a weapon and criminal mischief following the incident. A police report stated that Djan was from Boca Raton, however the address provided in the report traced back to a self-storage facility, making her residence unclear. The incident played out Nov. 5, 2025 at a traffic signal on Federal Highway near the Fifth Avenue Shops shopping center just after 6 p.m.

According to the report, the driver of a 2020 Porsche Panamera was stopped at a red light when a woman holding a metal cane walked in front of his vehicle. The woman then allegedly struck the hood of the vehicle with the cane. When the driver rolled down his window to confront the woman, she came back toward his vehicle and allegedly threatened him, causing him to open his door in order to create space between the two. The driver kept the woman, later identified as Djan, in his view while he called police. Boca Raton officers located the woman in Lake Wyman Park a short time later.

The report stated Djan, after being confronted by officers, “started yelling incoherently, exclaiming ‘Give him a ticket!'” She also told officers she hit the car because it was stopped too far across a stop line.

The damage to the vehicle was estimated to cost between $300 and $1,000. Djan remains lodged in the Palm Beach County Jail in lieu of a combined $3,000 bail for the two charges.
