A dispute at the Apple store in the Boca Town Center mall led to the arrest of one local man who is charged with assaulting a store security guard.

Scott D. Wolff, 64, of Boca Raton, was arrested and charged with battery on a security officer following the incident that played out in the store Oct. 26, 2025. According to a police report, officers were called to the store at 6:21 p.m. by a security guard who said Wolff “was acting very aggressively toward the employees,” including calling them names and making unspecified threats.

A manager who gave a statement to police backed up the accusations from the security guard, said the man berated store employees, called them names, and threatened them. The incident ended with Wolff allegedly pushing the security guard. Wolff, when interviewed by police after being arrested, is alleged to have told officers “he had spent $850 in the store and felt that the employees were ignoring him and taking too long,” according to the report.

Video surveillance footage collected by police, according to the report, showed Wolff “continuously getting in the security guard’s face and speaking in an aggressive manner.” It also showed him “walking out of the store, then repeatedly getting in [the guard’s] face in a lunging manner, with his fists balled as if preparing to fight.”

“The video further showed Wolff shoving [the guard] with both hands and then balling his fists as if ready to engage in a fight,” the report stated.

The security guard, whose name has been voluntarily withheld from publication, said the suspect also insulted his job and “you probably make like $20 an hour.”

During the interview with police officers, Wolff denied touching the security guard and said the guard pursued him after he left the store on his own.

Wolff was brought the Palm Beach County Jail where he was booked and released on $3,000 bond.
