Columbus Day: Here’s What Open, Closed, Rescheduled in Boca Raton

As Americans celebrate Columbus Day Monday, Boca Raton’s city offices will be closed and public works collections will run on a holiday schedule for the next two days.



According to officials, city offices and services will be closed on Monday, Oct 14, 2024. They will reopen Tuesday. There will be no sanitation pickups Monday; collections for Monday will be picked up on Tuesday, and collections for Tuesday will be picked up on Wednesday.

Palm Beach County schools will be closed for students Monday, however staff will attend an in-service day.



All parks, beaches, beachfront parks and playgrounds are open with regular hours on Monday. Recreational facilities will have the following hours:

Community Centers

  • Boca Raton Community Center: CLOSED
  • Sugar Sand Community Center: 10am-5pm
  • Swim Center Building: 7:30am-5pm
  • Sugar Sand Park Carousel: 11am-4pm

Tennis

  • Boca Raton Tennis Center: 8am-9pm
  • Patch Reef Park Tennis Center: 7:30am-10pm
  • The Racquet Center: 7:30am-10pm

Aquatics

  • The Swim Center Pool: 7:30am-5pm
  • Meadows Park Pool: 10am-5pm

Golf

  • Boca Raton Golf & Racquet Club: 7am-Sunset
  • Alan C. Alford Red Reef Family Golf Course: 7:30am-Sunset

Libraries

  • Downtown Library: 9am-8pm
  • Spanish River Library: 9am-8pm

Other

  • Tim Huxhold Skate Park & Shuffleboard Courts: 5pm-9pm
  • Sugar Sand Field House: 8am-10:30pm
  • Gumbo Limbo Nature Center: 12pm-4pm
  • Park Rangers HQ: 8am-4pm
  • Cemetery: CLOSED
